happy friday

i hope everyone has had as nice a week as i have… the snow melted. the gent and i celebrated our 11 month anniversary {yes, we count months…c’mon, it’s the first year}… and i got a new job. this weekend i’m looking forward to seeing some new friends and hoping the sun stays out…have a lovely weekend!

so…

i have two serious girl crushes going on… behold the power of the internet.

so, we are all obsessed with banquet, yes? well, i follow miss sarah edmonds on pinterest. she reciprocated with following my interiors board {such a compliment, i can’t even tell you}. and then, was kind enough to not only visit my blog, but to give me the link to the skull bracelet i have been lusting after! thank you sarah!

the second crush i have developing is on another sarah, she of the a-mazing house seen on design sponge that so many people went crazy for.  i posted about it here, and wanted to know where that gorgeous print was from that hung above her desk. she oh so kindly left a comment with the link… now i must have it. {also, you should definitely check out sarah’s graphic design work…seriously inspiring.}.

this is why i love blogging. the community that forms is priceless and all you ladies make my day! thank you for visiting me.

loving

i hope everyone had a lovely long weekend! we are currently snow bound at home, which is very unusual for these parts. with the fire going and staying in pj’s all day, it’s rather cozy though! here’s what i’m loving on this tuesday…

jennifer sarkilahati’s {of odette} home tour on design sponge. the palette, the touches of nature, the cream kitchen ware mixing with the perfect little cocktail area… i love it all. as a side note, i’m dying to get that eva ziesel sauce boat to use in our entry for keys and such. what do you think? and speaking of the palette, check out what elissa plans to use it for!

chloe s/s 2012. gorgeous ad campaign and i so want one of those striped, flowey dresses, and nude heels. sigh. {via joanna wiliams pinterest}.

this sweet paperweight from stripe&field. i love everything they do. this little guy would make any desk gorgeous.

and speaking of desks, this is so perfect. the chair, the yorkie (!),  but mostly that print… where is it from?? can anyone tell me?

lastly, this adorable, versatile dress for spring from heidi merrick. love it with the scarf. and we all know i’m a sucker for dresses with pockets :)

this+that

happy friday! i hope you have some lovely things planned for the weekend… i myself am very excited to watch the season premier of bill maher tonight and possibly try out this recipe.

oh, and on saturday watch the patriots play the broncos at our bar… my team vs. the Gents ;)

 and i’ll leave you with this piece of wonderfulness, via michelle’s pinterest. {maybe a cool valentine’s idea??}

boldness!

so, inspired by joslyn , i have been thinking on the topic of boldness. i too have the post holidays restlessness. especially with the weather here in seattle. the Gent and i have been talking {actually for a while now} about having a secret wedding…but two things…one, i would have just blown that secret, and two, neither of us can KEEP a secret. so there goes that. {plus, i just have to wear a wedding dress with pockets ;)}. we have also discussed getting small, matching tattoos… but we can’t decide what to get. {i’ll keep you posted}. so what to do? how to battle this blah? so far all i’ve got is… buy a slow cooker, make some spicy brisket, and have a brisket taco and margarita party to combat the gloom. crazy, i know. i’m open to ideas, ladies!

in the meantime. here’s some things i’m loving…

these cute rings… two stacking j’s please :)

these painted antlers {again, joslyn}. so gorgeous. getting some and painting them for definitely qualify as bold for me! and would speak to my “i grew up in both texas and santa fe-ness”.

speaking of weddings, this one is just too cool for school. i love the ribbon curtain, {perfect color palette}, but what really gets me is the lite-brite {did you have one as a kid? i did!} name display. like i said, way too cool.

i can’t get this girl out of my head. so classic, so perfect. i want to be her please!

love this photo, and love the nails. hot pink? yep. that would qualify as bold for me. perhaps…

and speaking of bold, how about some rdj to wrap this up? love this.

some words.

People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonance within our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive. That’s what it’s all finally about.

hello and happy new year! it’s been awhile, so for that i apologize. one of my resolutions, incidentally, is to be more ah, attentive to my blog. so, something to look forward to :) before i gush about some things out there that have been catching my eye, i need to gush for just a minute about the Gent. you knew that was coming, right? in his infinite Christmas wisdom, he gifted me with *the bag*, that i have been lusting after for ages. it’s even more gorgeous in person, and is hardly ever out of my sight. and, big shout out to the ladies at clare vivier- apparently the bag had been ordered and was taking a very long time to arrive. he contacted them, they immediately replied that it was their error, and sent it overnight  for free. two days before Christmas. so, gorgeous bag, excellent customer service. yay, clare. also, the book i had recently posted about showed up under the tree too. due to the article about it in the new york times, it was no where to be found- he searched high and low, called all the bookstores  across the country that were selling it to no avail, when finally he found a copy on amazon. and it is amazing. so beautiful. if you can get your hands on one, do. so, thanks for letting me gush and onwards to some other lovely things…

this is my favorite outfit. ever. must get. the ultimate high-low. {here}

a new clare bag. now at anthropologie! the color is amazing.

i’ve been looking for some simple, monogrammed, letterpress stationery for some time. this could be it!

how gorgeous is this restaurant? luckily, sitka and spruce is here in seattle. i must get myself there,  soon. {images here}

another signet ring. what can i say? the obsession continues. {here}.

loving

yet another wrist stack. yes, the “love” bracelet but i really like that dainty little skull bracelet juxtaposed with the two chunkier pieces. i don’t know who makes it though… anyone?? and this one also has a string… very interesting.

we really need  a new set of plates. these are simple, well crafted and seem like you’d have them forever. they’re from school house electric, where i found tons of great stuff.

this ornament, a collaboration between pigeon toe ceramics and shanna murray. “repeat the sounding joy” is by far my favorite sentiment and phrase of the season. unfortanately, i believe they’re sold out. :(

pom pom mittens. enough said.

i am a major lover of lists. and these lists are by two people i really dig. both  are equally amazing in their own way. the first is by johnny cash, the second eero saarinen.  cash’s is reminders to himself, it seems, saarien’s a list to his wife naming the reasons he first came to love her. swoon.
