“We were together. I forget the rest.”

this + that

well. another week is flying by. a week in which i have not been blogging… what can i say, friends? a new job is kinda exhausting. i promise i’ll be back to my old self soon though! in the meantime, here’s a few gems from around the web…

since all i can think about recently is SLEEP, i am dying over this indian cotton bedding from ABC carpet and home. so, so, sweet and cozy, no?

and, the other thing on my mind is work, of course, and this is… well let’s just say it’s a world away form my cubicle….those walls! that rug! and the branches!! i WILL have a home work space like this some day, i will… {also, this space was photographed by melanie acevedo, on whom i have a major crush.}

and speaking of my cubicle. it needs this. stat. i feel like if i have something that says it, i won’t actually do it.

oh and these, it needs these.

and this kitchen. well. every single thing happening in it… pink. the doors. the shelf of cookbooks…

and speaking of cookbooks, this one is the newest in my collection. i took it out from the library and i loved it so much, i sighed a big loud sigh when i had to return it. the Gent, you see, notices these things… and a few days later the postman brought me one. {is he the bees knees, or what?}. it is a beautiful book, and this weekend we are going to choose a recipe and make it together. and that’s how we do romance in this house.

BELIEVES: “A human being is part of the whole, called by us ‘Universe,’ a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest – a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation, and a foundation for inner security.” Albert Einstein “The important thing is not to think much but to love much and so do that which best stirs you to love.” St. Teresa of Avila “People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances without own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.” Joseph Campbell
