monday obsessions

happy monday kittens! i hope you had a lovely weekend. i’m going to be making some changes to the ‘ol blog here soon, {seriously this time!}, but we’ll kick off the week with some good old fashioned material lusting :)

a cute, simple wallet seems like an easy thing to find. i’ve had my eyes peeled for one ever since someone stole my pink kate spade wallet our of my purse at a starbucks in san francisco. not a good day. anyway.  turns out it’s not so easy to find what i had in my mind.  enter clare vivier. and well, duh, you’re probably saying. but her wallets are new! and i need one. that color…mmmm. and that blue on the inside! yummy. {here}

i used to read dwell magazine religiously. for some reason, they fell by the wayside a bit. but, you all know of my undying love for heath ceramics. you know where i’m going with this… collaboration. how gorgeous is this pattern?

i love old school baseball shirts. LOVE. and let’s not even get started on how i love them on the Gent. so a baseball shirt dress? yes. oh yes. {here}

for above our fireplace. right?

and i knowwww you must be tired of my obsession with this chloe dress. but!! the back view!! le sigh.

and lastly, this picture is just a happy maker for me. i remember when this shoot was published in vanity fair in 1999. beautiful, melancholy photo. and she’s still my style icon :)

BELIEVES: “A human being is part of the whole, called by us ‘Universe,’ a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest – a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation, and a foundation for inner security.” Albert Einstein “The important thing is not to think much but to love much and so do that which best stirs you to love.” St. Teresa of Avila “People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances without own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.” Joseph Campbell
