Adoring: Once again… Lily Stockman. By now you’ve undoubtedly read about her Block Shop, as it’s been written up pretty much everywhere. If you haven’t, they are hand printed scarfs, designed by Lily, made in India using wooden printing blocks. Naturally, they sold out in a week, but you can sign up to be notified when more are ready. Have a look.
Wearable art, they are. In case anyone is wondering, I’ll take this one. For my birthday. Thankssomuch.
Craving: These Italian-style green beans. I made these for dinner last night, alongside chicken parm. I can’t overstate how good these are. The only changes I made were to use fresh green beans, and I used more tomatoes than beans. Oh, and I used these tomatoes, because they’re the best. I only wish they used BPA free cans!! Ok, now I’m off to eat the leftovers. And maybe write an email telling them to get it together with the BPA situation.
Coveting: These silk J.Crew pjs. Oh my. Sexy and spring-y and cozy all at once! (And I love the idea of layering the camisole under a blazer or cardigan.)
Excited about: Seeing Joel Salatin speak on Saturday!! He is the gentleman farmer from Food Inc., and I could not love him more. Here are some of his words to ponder. Happy weekend, friends!
“How much evil throughout history could have been avoided had people exercised their moral acuity with convictional courage and said to the powers that be, ‘No, I will not. This is wrong, and I don’t care if you fire me, shoot me, pass me over for promotion, or call my mother, I will not participate in this unsavory activity.’ Wouldn’t world history be rewritten if just a few people had actually acted like individual free agents rather than mindless lemmings?”
It makes me so happy that you made the green beans! Tim (and his grandma!) would be proud. : )
Well thank YOU for the recipe! I just discovered your blog and can’t get enough :)
