“We were together. I forget the rest.”
Do you think people who love their work feel guilty? I have come to the conclusion that some people might. We think we can’t possibly get pleasure out of our job, and if we do, well we shouldn’t, not with all the people who toil away for not enough pay and not enough respect.
I love teaching preschoolers. But there are other things I would really like to do, or attempt to do, but there seems to be a block in my mind. I’ve been trying to make sense of it, and in typical Jessica fashion, I’m over thinking it a bit. (Oh, you couldn’t tell?).
Writing is one of those things. It’s what I went to school for and really, I have always loved it. But I dance around it, never really committing to it. If you’re hoping this blathering has some satisfying conclusion, well, it doesn’t. Not yet. But I came across this today, and it freed something up in my mind. To be continued.
1. Make sure you enjoy writing.
Writers always like to say how hard the writing process is and how much suffering it causes. They’re lying. People don’t like to admit they make a living from something they genuinely enjoy.
